Best Street Style of 2012

It's been such a pleasure meeting and photographing everyone over the past six months and I look forward to lots more in the coming year. These are some of my favourite looks!

I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve and a happy 2013!

Pure fun

These are happiness and playfulness in shoe and clutch form. By new designer Sophia Webster, who everyone is unsurprisingly very excited about! You can buy them here at Net-a-Porter.com.

Winter dressing

I normally spend winter dressing like a man (although a slightly Oscar Wilde type Gent to be fair). Their clothes are so much warmer! Shirts, men’s jumpers, trousers, flat leather shoes. I'm on the lookout for the perfect tie too.

Valentino

My boyfriend got me the most beautiful book for Christmas. I sat reading it, curled up in bed with a cup of Earl grey on Boxing Day, total heaven! I've had to resist tearing out pages (how could I!) to frame and put on the wall because they are just gorgeous. I've always loved Valentino, his designs I think are just on the line of pure fantasy and reality. They are the dresses of your dreams but still wearable and elegant. It features the final collection from Spring 2008 (which I can't believe was four years ago! God I'm getting old) and pages and pages of unbelievably beautiful creations, plus a short foreword by the man himself. Here are some snaps I took of my favourite pages.

Grrr

I'm very sad to announce that my laptop has finally packed up and given in. We've had five wonderful years but the battery has finally died.

I now of course, need to buy a new one! This thought should fill me with excitement but it doesn’t. It fills me with dread. Mainly because technology and I, well, we don’t really get along to well. I know I have a blog and stuff but it’s done (although with love!) as simply as I can. The photo collages? Done on Paint (I am a paint wizard though, check out my zoo). I don’t even know what make my phone is. I do know it cost £12.50 and is so basic it doesn’t even have predictive text. One visitor to my house even mistook it for the TV remote. Not good. I have no idea what Ram is, or megabytes. Though the latter I think would make an awesome name for crisps. I’d buy them.

I’m going to buy one this week so will be posting some more street style as soon as I manage to plug it in and open it without any major disaster. See you soon!

Ps: remember back in the day when the TV signal used to break and they gave you a nice picture of a kitten to look at? Generally in a bucket or flower pot? Well as this blog’s about fashion, here’s a picture of Chouppette to pass the time....

Nail DIY

I experimented on my friend Marielle's nail on Halloween. The Sixth Sense was getting a bit scary and it helped to focus more on making the ladybird's eyes fairly identical! I am such a wuss with horror movies, even Buffy was sometimes too much for me. Though I think 'Hush' (remember that episode? Creepy suited men with big smiles who steal all the voices....) would have scared anyone. I used a pin head to make the dots, you can make all sorts, flowers, polka dots or googley eyes. I did this on my own nails a few weeks ago...

Mac

You can't go wrong with a classic mac. Mix yours up with a scarf for autumn cool.

London

I went to London two weeks ago and was completely bowled over by all the different and amazing men and woman I saw. The style there is so diverse and people are fearless, I loved it! I have to admit, I was a little shy to ask for photos (it was really busy and people walk really fast!) but I managed to take a few subtly, (ok a tad stalker-ish, I'm sorry!) although photo taking whilst walking is very tricky indeed. There were some people that I so regret not being able to catch. But a few turned out ok! I can't wait to go back, it's such a wicked city. I had the best weekend!

Blend

I love this blend of colours and how the fit is cool and relaxed yet still really chic. And I love the shoes.

Monday 8 October 2012

Couple

These two complement each other so well. And those shoes might just be the coolest I've ever seen!

Denim

Over size denim and converses (plus tea) is the ulimate in relaxed cool.

A few weeks back

I met this lovely lady a week or two back and she was kind enough to stop for a photo even though she was working, I love her laid back, effortless style.

Friday 14 September 2012

Two

Ah I don't know where to start! I love both whole looks. Hair: awesome, beauty: awesome, style: awesome. One word: yeah you guessed it.

Stripes

I loved the playfulness of this outfit, the personal touches, the alice band, the red lipstick. I imagine her to be a creative person, maybe an artist. She looks beautiful!

Breton

I love the mix of the purple skirt with the bright green flats, those colours go so well together! A classic breton top is a staple for any wardrobe. They go with everything. But it's hard to find the perfect one. A.P.C do amazing ones but they are admittedley a little pricey. I've been reading the new October Issue of Elle and it's making me lust after things I can't afford like Equiptment shirts and a Whistles leather pencil skirt.

Cool

This outfit is just awesome, it's so fun and makes me very happy :D The pattern and colour of the dress are gorgeous and go so well with the neon pink soles of her sandles. I actually crossed the street and started walking the opposite way to catch her (stalker, sorry!) cause she just seemed to radiate personality and effortless cool.

Sunday 2 September 2012

Hat

A hat adds an edge of cool to any outfit, even if in this case, the outfit was pretty cool to begin with!

Friday 31 August 2012

Blue

I love how much the ice blue colours stands out. Plus I love the hint of green in her hair, it's awesome!

DIY

First of all, I really want that grey t-shirt! It's great DIY inspiration as well, press studs round the neck would be an instant update of any t-shirt, you could even add jewels to work this AW12 baroque trend. The black and silver lurex shirt is a standout piece that also works as a great basic.

Hair envy

Two great looks. I love the mix of floral and creepers, sometimes the best thing to go with something is the opposite, like a silk shirt with beaten up jeans or a mini skirt and an over size jumper. I love the hair too, I've been trying to master a bun like that for ages, mine always goes slightly go awry!

Grunge

I love this girls style! A checked shirt around the waist (Go to the men's section in charity shops, they are a gold mine for checked shirts) is a great was to grunge up a t-shirt/short combination and the red lipstick smartens it all up.
